Beach Bits:
• Johnson Jordan has finished ranked in the top 10 in season points each year she has competed on the AVP Tour. • After placing 25th in her first ever tournament with Davis, Johnson Jordan has placed lower than ninth in a team domestic event just once. • With Annett Davis, became just the second team worldwide to compete in 100 events together. • Johnson Jordan and Davis won their first six career titles over a 14-month span on four different tours.
2010: Started the season with a fifth-place finish before winning in Santa Barbara. 2009: Began the season with two fifth-place finishes in their first four events, then advanced to nine straight semifinals including one championship match. In Hermosa Beach the pair became just the second American women's team to earn over $1 million in career domestic earnings as a partnership. They concluded the season with a pair of fifth place finishes, and their 11 semifinals tied for the second most on tour. 2008: Ranked as the second team on the Tour with Davis, winning in Belmar and Santa Barbara. With Davis, advanced to the semifinals in 13 of 17 events, including the last five of the year. They were in seven finals, the most domestically for this tandem in a single season, including in five straight events in June and July. Ranked second in kills per game (7.57). 2007: Won in Chicago and played in seven semifinals. Johnson Jordan and Davis finished third in the Crocs Cup Standings. Johnson Jordan was chosen by Elaine Youngs as her partner in winning the Goddess of the Beach title. Fourth on the Tour in kills per game (7.46). 2006: Part of the third-ranked team on Tour, with nine semifinal appearances. Ranked third on the Tour in kills per game (7.14). 2005: Did not play. 2004: Johnson Jordan and Davis became the U.S. team with most career tournaments played together, and in Huntington Beach they played their 100th event together, a feat which only one other team in the world had accomplished. Ended the season as the third-ranked team, advancing to the semifinals nine times in the 10 team events. On the FIVB Tour advanced to five semifinals, including podium finishes in their last three tournaments. Missed qualifying for the Olympics, ending third in the U.S. and fifth worldwide, the only team in the top 15 not to qualify. Johnson Jordan ranked fourth in kills per game (7.07) and ninth in hitting percentage (.403). 2003: Ranked as the number three team on the AVP Tour, playing in the semifinals in six of nine team events. 2002: Part of the second-ranked team on the AVP Tour, playing in the semifinals in all seven events. Collected wins in Manhattan Beach and Chicago. 2001: Did not play. 2000: Won four titles on three different tours. Qualified for the Olympics with the second highest ranking worldwide, and placed fifth in the Sydney Games. 1999: With Davis, won their first two career titles, in Muskegon and Portugal. Their season earnings were the most of any U.S. team (men or women). 1998: Did not play domestically, but played in four FIVB events with a best finish of ninth. 1997: Began her partnership with Davis, playing in three domestic events and two international tournaments. In their third event, they lost in the first round and won seven straight matches to advance to the finals in Orlando. 1996: Began her pro breach career playing one event with Katy Eldridge, the only event in her career with a partner other than Davis.
Hot Winter Nights: Played in the test event in 2007 in Albany, placing third. In 2008 she was in four events with a pair of second-place finishes. She played in four HWN events during the 2009 season.
Four-Person Volleyball: Johnson Jordan competed two seasons on the four-person circuit where she teamed with Davis, Gabrielle Reece and Stephanie Cox to lead the United States to the four-person title at the 1997 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Los Angeles.
College: Played collegiate volleyball at UCLA where she started for three seasons and captained the 1994 and 1995 teams. Earned All-League and All-American honors. Graduated with a degree in Communication Studies.
Personal: Her father, Rafer Johnson, won decathlon medals at both the 1956 Melbourne (Silver) and 1960 Rome (Gold) Olympic Games, and was the torchbearer at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Has a younger brother, Josh, who was a PAC-10 champion in javelin. She is married to Kevin Jordan, a former wide receiver on the UCLA football team. Their daughter, Jaylen, was born in October 2001 and their son, Kory, in June 2005.
