Beach Bits: • Entering the 2019 AVP season, Crabb is one of eight players which have reached the semifinals in each of the last five years (2014-2018). • In Hermosa Beach 2017 Crabb lost to his younger bother Taylor in the championship match, marking the first time two brothers met in an AVP title match since June 1991 when Sinjin Smith defeated his younger brother Andrew. 2018: Crabb and John Mayer competed in four AVP tournaments, placing fifth three times. He then finished the AVP season with Tri Bourne, improving from seventh to fifth to third. Crabb was seventh on the AVP Tour in hitting percentage (.458). Internationally Crabb played one qualifier with Sean Rosenthal and two with Skylar del Sol, but did not advance in any of those. He then played five FIVB tournaments with John Mayer, winning a three star and a two star event. 2017: Crabb began playing with Sean Rosenthal, finishing in second place four times in their seven AVP tournaments. Crabb was second on the Tour in hitting percentage (.494) and fifth in kills per set (7.18 per set). On the FIVB Tour Crabb and Rosenthal played five times, with a best of fifth. He also played once with Avery Drost, placing ninth. 2016: Crabb played all seven AVP tournaments with his brother Taylor, reaching the semifinals each time including three finals. Crabb was fifth on the AVP Tour in hitting percentage (.458). The Crabbs had a best of ninth three times in their four FIVB events together. 2015: Started the AVP season with two different partners in the first three events, with a best of third alongside Ty Tramblie in their debut as partners. He then partnered with his brother Taylor for the last four events, and they finished third twice, including in Manhattan Beach. Crabb ended the year ranked fourth in hitting percentage (.468). On the FIVB Tour he played four tournaments with four different partners, with his best finish a ninth with his brother Taylor. 2014: Crabb began the AVP season with a pair of events alongside VanderWerp, advancing from the qualifier both times. He then partnered with Billy Allen for five tournaments, getting a best of third. He ended the season with the most kills per set (7.38) and was 10th in blocks (1.49). Crabb played in two FIVB events with Adam Roberts, getting a ninth in his first in his first event after advancing from the qualifier. 2013: In his first AVP tournament, played with his brother Taylor and they advanced from the qualifier in Manhattan Beach. Crabb played two other AVP tournaments with Steven VanderWerp, with a best of ninth. 2012: Crabb played in one domestic qualifier with Evan Silberstein. 2011: Made his pro beach volleyball debut with his brother Taylor, finishing 49th. College: Crabb played one season of basketball at Puget Sound, helping the team to the Division III Sweet 16. He then transferred to Long Beach State, where he played two years as an outside hitter. Personal: Crabb has one brother, Taylor, who is also a professional beach volleyball player and who also played at LBSU. Crabb's mother, Paula, was a gymnast at Southern Connecticut University and his uncle, Tony, was an assistant coach for the 1984 U,S, National Volleyball Team which won the Olympic Gold Medal in Los Angeles. Crabb's cousin is Lindsey Berg, a three-time Indoor Volleyball Olympian, winning the Silver Medal in both 2008 and 2012. Crabb competed in both volleyball and basketball at Punahou High School in Honolulu, winning the state high school basketball championship.
