Beach Bits:
• Reckermann and Brink won four of their first six events together as partners in 2009, including the World Championships, but then did not win again until the 2012 London Olympics, going 26 events without a title.
• In the first five titles won by Reckermann and Brink, the opponent was from Brazil each time.
• Reckermann's second FIVB Gold Medal came in the first event following the 2004 Athens Olympics. In the semifinals he and Markus Dieckmann defeated the Olympic Gold medalists Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos in their home country, and in the title match defeated the Olympic Bronze medalists Patrick Heuscher and Stefan Kobel.

2012: Reckermann and Brink advanced to two semifinals in five events, winning their only medal in the London Olympics as they won the Gold. They ended the season as the 25th-ranked team on the tour, behind three other teams from Germany. They won their only CEV event, the European Championship Final.
2011: Reckermann and Brink won seven medals in 10 FIVB events, with a best of second three times. In the World Championships in Rome the duo won the Bronze Medal. They ended the season as the third-ranked team on the tour. They won their only CEV event, the European Championship Final.
2010: Reckermann and Brink advanced to six semifinals in eight FIVB tournaments, with a best of second twice. They played in just one CEV event, the European Championship Final in Berlin, and finished ninth.
2009: Reckermann began playing with Brink for the first time on the FIVB Tour, advancing to the semifinals in nine of the 10 events. Their second title together came in the World Championships in Stavanger, and was followed up with a pair of Grand Slam Gold Medals. During that span they set the FIVB Tour record for most consecutive match victories with 25. Reckermann and Brink won the tour's points championships, becoming just the second European team to accomplish that feat. On the CEV Tour they won one event and three additional medals before placing fourth in the European Championship Final.
2008: Reckermann and Urbatzka advanced to four semifinals, including their last three events. They placed second twice, and ended the year as the fourth-ranked team on the tour in terms of points. The duo played in two CEV events, and finished ninth in the CEV European Championship in Germany.
2007: Reckermann and Urbatzka played in 13 events, and had a best of seventh through their first 10 tournaments. The duo placed 17th in the World Championships in Gstaad, then ended the season with a fifth followed by a pair of second-place finishes.
2006: Reckermann did not compete due to a back injury.
2005: Reckermann and Dieckmann advanced to three title matches, finishing second each time. Reckermann played one event with Mischa Urbatzka, placing 13th, and one with Eric Koreng, finishing ninth. Reckermann and Dieckmann were ninth in the World Championships in Berlin. The duo played three CEV events, including a third-place showing in the European Championship Final.
2004: Reckermann and Dieckmann started the season by advancing to the semifinals in their first five FIVB events of the season. They won the Grand Slam in Berlin, marking the first title for both players on the FIVB Tour. They ended the season ranked fourth in points on the Tour. The duo competed in the Athens Olympics, placing ninth. In the following event the duo went undefeated in winning the Gold Medal in Brazil. Reckermann and Dieckmann played two CEV events, advancing to the title match both times, and winning the European Championship Final in Germany.
2003: In the season opener Reckermann and Dieckmann placed 17th, then advanced to their first title match, finishing second. They placed second again later in the year, and closed the season with a 17th-place finish in the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. Reckermann played one CEV tournament with Julius Brink, placing fifth, then won a Silver Medal with Dieckmann at the CEV European Championships.
2002: Reckermann and Dieckmann placed third in their first event of the year in Berlin, giving Reckermann his first FIVB medal. The duo played in six more events with a best of fifth place. On the CEV Tour the duo won their only event, the European Championships.
2001: Reckermann began a partnership with Markus Dieckmann, playing in nine FIVB events. They twice advanced from the qualifier into the main draw, and twice lost in the qualifier. In the final four events they improved their finish each time, from a 13th to a fifth. They placed ninth in the World Championships in Klagenfurt.
2000: Reckermann and David Klemperer won the CEV U23 European Championship Final in Reckermann's only event of the season.

Olympics:
• In the 2012 London Olympics Reckermann qualified with Julius Brink as the third seed. The duo went 3-0 in pool play, then 4-0 in bracket play in winning the Gold Medal, defeating Brazil's Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego in three sets.
• In the 2004 Athens Olympics Reckermann qualified with Markus Dieckmann as the fourth seed. The duo went 2-1 in pool play, then lost their first match in bracket play, finishing ninth.
