Bio Bits

Formerly Kathryn Babcock, she began her collegiate career at Central Missouri State, where she played basketball. Piening then transferred to Western Michigan, where she was an outside hitter on the volleyball team. She tallied over 1,000 kills and 900 digs in her four seasons there. Her 36 double-doubles set a school career record.

In high school she was named the Detroit Free Press Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior.
