Has a best finish of ninth, with Chad Mowrey at Hermosa Beach in 2001 and with Casey Jennings at Virginia Beach in 2001. Played at Golden West College, the 1997-98 California State Champions. At Indiana Purdue Ft. Wayne, he was selected to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team in 1999 and was the MIVA Tournament MVP that year as well. Played in Puerto Rico and Spain, then was on the U.S. National Team in 2001.

Personal: Has an older brother and a younger sister. His step-sister, Katie Swart, was a two-time All-American volleyball player at Taft College. His dad and brother are his role models, and his mom’s tacos are his favorite meal. “The Lock” received his teaching credential and a master’s in Education. His favorite movie is Gladiator, SportsCenter is his favorite show, and Incubus is his favorite band. If he weren’t playing volleyball he would be doing what he is doing now, teaching high school P.E. and coaching volleyball (coaches boys and girls at Warren High School).
