Hanley has won beach titles in four different decades, including a 2001 crown with Sarah Straton in Muskegon. The 2001 season marked the first time in six seasons that Hanley participated in only domestic events where she compiled $17,225 with three “final four” finishes in six events. Hanley and Barbra Fontana finished fourth at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. Hanley attended UCLA where she was a three-time volleyball All-American. She and her husband (John) have two sons. The Hanleys combined to win 62 pro beach events titles and over $794,754 to rank behind the Mike and Patty Dodd as one of the winningest couples on the sand.
