The 2007 season marks Pavley's ninth year as a professional beach volleyball player, but her third year as a full-time athlete as she hung up her firefighting gear for the last time in 2004, having retired from her position with the Long Beach Fire Department.

In 2002, the AVP awarded her Most Improved player. "Pav" and the 2002 Rookie of the Year, Angie Akers, paired up for the 2005 season. In 2006 she enjoyed her best season financially and ranked sixth on the Tour in digs (5.47 per game).

Pavley and then-partner Marsha Miller won the Silver Medal for the
U.S. at the Pan American Games in 1999.

Pavley began her collegiate career at Texas Tech, playing one year there. She graduated from the University of New Mexico where she was named First-Team All-Conference (1996) and to the All-Tournament Team. She graduated with a degree in communications. She also went on to get certified by the City of Long Beach Fire Academy and Oxnard College Fire Academy.

Pavley grew up in
Agoura Hills, California with her brother David. Her mother Fran, is in the State Assembly.

She currently resides in
Redondo Beach, California. She appeared in a 2005 episode of Medical Investigation, which also featured Rachel Wacholder.

Favorite Movie:
Happy Gilmore... Favorite Band: Simon and Garfunkle... Favorite Show: I want a guest appearance on the show Third Watch... Role Model: Mainly my grandma and my brother, David. Both thoughtful and generous and make the lives of people they meet happier... Sponsors: Bolle... Favorite Meal: Rock-n-Fish and Fatburger

If you weren't playing professional volleyball, what would you be doing?

I'd be an action hero in movies. Or, I'd be traveling and working with wildlife foundations.
