College: As a senior at BYU, Carpenter was selected first-team all-West Coast Conference. An outside hitter, she was second on the team in kills in both her junior and senior seasons. She majored in exercise and wellness with a minor in business.
Personal: Carpenter grew up in Utah in a volleyball family, as her father, Bryan, was an All-American at BYU and a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team. Her mother, Teri, played one year on BYU's volleyball team, and her brother, Cory, played on the BYU volleyball team in 2004. She has three brothers and one sister. Her high school team won the state title twice and finished second twice, and she also lettered in track as a high jumper.
