|
College: Played four years of beach volleyball at Florida State. She paired with Kristina Pellitteri as both a freshman (25-10 record) and a sophomore (29-3 on court two). Paranagua compiled a 30-8 match record on courts two and three as a junior, playing mostly with Macy Jerger then at the end of the season with Vanessa Freire. She and Freire were partners in her senior campaign as she had a 31-2 record primarily on court one, and Paranagua was named an AVCA All American. Her career overall match record of 116-34 placed her second all time in wins at the school.
Personal: Paranagua was born in Brazil and lived there until age 11, when she moved to Austin. She was her high school's Female Athlete of the Year as in addition to volleyball she set school swimming records in 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay and was a two-time all-state swimmer. In volleyball she led the team in kills in each of her last three seasons. She was the first person to receive a beach volleyball scholarship from Texas.
