Smith (no relation to Sinjin) earned his first career victory in Virginia Beach with Aaron Boss in 2001.
Prior to winning with Boss, his best career finish was a fourth in 2001 with Mike Lambert at Huntington
Beach. The 2001 season was Smith’s best pro beach campaign with $16,538 in earnings. Smith started playing
beach volleyball in 1993 before joining the domestic tour full-time last season. Smith and Scott Davenport
tied for seventh in the inaugural beach volleyball competition at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg,
Canada. He graduated from Soquel High School (Aptos, Calif.) in 1993 and Cal State-Northridge in 1993.
He enjoys basketball and swimming, along with watching ESPN’s SportsCenter.
