Wick has an older sister, Elizabeth. She began her collegiate career indoors at New Mexico State, before transferring to Texas A&M-Kingsville, where she was tabbed as the league's Newcomer of the Year. Wick left the program as the career leader in hitting percentage (.357), and her two seasons ranked as the first and fifth highest in program history. Her 240 blocks ranked eighth all-time in just two seasons. Wick was the first player in school history to become an All-American, as she was an AVCA Honorable Mention choice in 2016. She also played one season at the number one position in beach volleyball at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
