College: As a freshman at Lewis University, Kauling was named AVCA Honorable Mention All-America and was Second Team as a junior. He left the program ranked eighth all time in assists (2,259).
Personal: Kauling grew up in a family of swimmers, which they all competed in early on before transitioning to volleyball. His oldest sister Hailey played volleyball at Bemidji State, while his sister Kora was a setter at Wichita State.
