Beach Bits • In Manhattan Beach
2023 Loreen and Natalie Robinson became the first women's duo in AVP
history to be seeded 32nd and defeat a #1 seed when they upset Betsi
Flint / Julia Donlin. • Entering the 2026 season Loreen has played in the same number of foreign countries on the World Tour as she has number of states on the AVP Tour (four).
2025: Loreen and Marine Kinna played five AVP tournaments together. On the Tour Series they won twice to go with a third place finish. The duo ended the year with a 13th place in Manhattan Beach. Loreen played in seven World Tour
tournaments alongside Corinne Quiggle, with a
best of a silver medal in a Challenge event. 2024: Loreen played in two AVP events, failing to qualify with Molly Shaw before advancing from the qualifier and placing 13th in Manhattan Beach with Natalie Robinson. She also played four times internationally, including three with Shaw. They won a Futures event in Tahiti without losing a single set, and won a pair of NORCECA tournaments. 2023: Loreen made her pro beach volleyball debut in Waupaca with Natalie Robinson on the Tour Series. They won their qualifier match to advance to the main draw, and in their first match the upset the top-seeded team in pool play. Loreen finished in second place after also recording wins over the tournament's second and fourth seeds. That finish earned them a spot in the Manhattan Beach Open, where they were seeded 32nd but opened play with an upset of the top seeds. After placing ninth in Manhattan Beach they ended the year with a 17th in Laguna Beach on the Tour Series.
College: Loreen began her collegiate career at Santa Clara, where she played two seasons indoors and one season on the beach. She then transferred to the University of Washington to play beach volleyball. Her first season was cut short due to Covid, and she ended 3-4 at the No. 2 spot with Natalie Robinson. As a sophomore she played at the No. 1 position and finished with a 23-6 match record alongside Shayne McPherson, setting the school record for most wins in a season. Loreen played with Natalie Robinson as a junior and they had an 18-9 match record. Loreen and Robinson teamed again at the No. 1 spot as a senior, finishing 28-7. Loreen became the first AVCA All-American in school history (along with partner Natalie Robinson). She ended her career second all time in overall wins (92) and second in dual wins (62).
Personal: Loreen has one younger brother, Spencer. Her high school team, Lakeside, won the state title her senior season and she was the league MVP as a junior. She also finished fourth in high jump and eighth in shot put in the state tournament.
