2011: Matysik and Erdmann placed ninth in the world Championships in Rome, and then advanced to their first semifinal together, finishing fourth. The duo finished 11th in the FIVB season rankings. They placed second in both the CEV European Championships as well as a CEV satellite event.
2010: Matysik and Erdmann played in 10 FIVB events together, with a best of ninth three times. Matysik played in the CEV European Championships with Alexander Walkenhorst, finishing 17th.
2009: Matysik played two FIVB events with Christoph Dieckmann with a best of fifth. He then began a partnership with Jonathan Erdmann, with their first event being the World Championships in Stavanger, finishing 33rd. The duo played in seven FIVB events, with a best of 13th. They also played in two CEV events, with a best of ninth. Matysik began the CEV season with a fourth-place finish with Dieckmann and a fifth with Mischa Urbatzka.
2008: Matysik and Uhmann competed in six FIVB events, winning their first medal in a Grand Slam in Marseille, a bronze, after knocking off the second and third seeded teams. Matysik played one event with Sebastian Dollinger, placing ninth, and one with Markus Bockermann, finishing 17th. Matysik and Uhmann played in seven CEV events winning three consecutive times. The duo finished second in the European Championships.
2007: Matysik began playing with Stefan Uhmann, and the duo advanced from all three FIVB qualifiers with a best of ninth. Matysik played one FIVB tournament with Tom Gotz, losing in the qualifier. On the CEV Tour Matysik played once with Daniel Krug, finishing fifth. He and Uhmann played in five CEV tournaments, with a best of third. They placed 13th in the European Championships.
2006: Matysik formed a partnership with Eric Koreng, playing in eight FIVB events with a best of 17th three times. On the CEV Tour the duo played in six tournaments, with a best of second. They finished 13th in the European Championships.
2005: Matysik competed outside of Germany for the first time. Playing with Marcus Popp, the duo lost in the country quota in an FIVB event in Gstaad. They then advanced from the qualifier as the 18th seed in an FIVB challenger event and won the tournament after winning seven straight matches following a second-round loss. The duo also finished ninth in another challenger event.
2004: Matysik and Kroger lost in the qualifier in their only FIVB event. Matysik and Marvin Polte finished 36th in the CEV European Championships.
2003: Matysik played in one FIVB event, losing in the county quota alongside Thomas Kroger.
2002: Matysik did not compete internationally.
2001: Matysik made his beach debut just after his 21st birthday with Karl Strempel, finishing 57th in an FIVB event in Berlin.
