Escobar began his collegiate career at Hawai'i, and ended it at SDSU. Nicknamed "Tico", he received a scholar athlete award and a B.A. in Finance.
I had a major motorcycle accident in 1997 and broke my leg, separated my right shoulder and had internal bleeding in my head. I was in a wheelchair for six months and took two years of surgeries and rehab to be able to properly function again. I thought that playing volleyball again would never happen, but I feel blessed to now still be able to compete at the AVP level at the sport that I love. I have plenty of scars and pins in my leg that remind me how lucky I am to still be able to enjoy this great sport.
