Bio Bits

Michelau spent two years at College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill., where he was a power forward on the basketball team. As a sophomore he was a Junior College Division I all-star. He then played one year of volleyball on the NIU club team as a senior, marking his first time playing organized volleyball. Michelau received a B.S. in Computer Science from Northern Illinois. At the age of 23, he played beach volleyball for the first time.

Michelau has two brothers, Scott and Robert.
