Bio Bits

Smith's father is a cousin of Don Drysdale, and she has two older brothers, Dan, who played baseball collegiately, and Andy. As a high school freshman, she played center on the varsity basketball team and pitched for the varisty softball team. She was a Volleyball Magazine "Fab 50" member, and she could have gone to school on a softball scholarship as well. Played two years at Washington State before transferring to Texas Tech. At Tech she was selected as a second-team All-American while also pitching on the softball team as a senior. Following graduation with an English degree, she played professionally in Italy, Holland, Puerto Rico and Indonesia.
