Virna played in the Brazilian National Team for 20 years, becoming one of the most important players in the country. She earned bronze medals at the Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. In addition, she was on Brazilian teams that won the 1999 Pan American Games gold medal in Winnipeg. 99 and was a member of four championship Grand Prix squads (1994, 1996, 1998 and 2004). She was elected best player in two Grand Prixs (1996 and 1999). A fan of Brazilian music, Virna starts her SWATCH-FIVB World Tour career with the legendary Sandra Pires.
