In 2010 Jon lead Team USA (Summer Ross & Jane Croson) to the first FIVB Junior World Championship (Porto, Portugal) in US history. In that same tournament USA-2 (Rebecca Strehlow & Lara Dykstra) became the first US team to come through the qualifier and compete in the main draw. They defeated the #1 seeds in the tournament and had a swing to earn a fifth place. A month and a half later, Summer Ross won an unprecedented second Jr. FIVB Championship in the under 21 competition. In 2009 he assisted Anjinho Bacil in coaching Team USA on their way to compete in England, Turkey and Finland.

In 2010, Jon also helped put together the BCAP (Beach Coaches Accreditation Program) and presented it to the first cadre group which included Dain Selznick, Angela Rock, Butch May, Anna Colier, Tyra Turner, and John Speraw. Dr. Richard Schmidt, an expert in motor learning and motor control, also presented at the BCAP.

Jon also runs beach volleyball clinic with both the AAU and the CBVA, and is the CBVA Junior tournament director at Will Rogers State Beach located in Santa Monica. Jon has been a volleyball coach at Harvard Westlake School since 2005, and prior to Harvard Westlake, coached at Brentwood High School.  Prior to joining USA Volleyball Jon was a partner in the Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos Beach Volleyball Camps. In 2007, Jon won the gold medal at the Maccabiah games with current UCLA assistant coach JT Wenger and brought home the silver medal is 2005.

Jon is one of three certified FIVB Beach Coaches in the US. Jon earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics as well as a graduate degree in Gemology. Jon is also a member of SAG and shot a movie in Belarus, Minsk.
