College: Grissom was a middle blocker at Wake Forest, and ended her career ranked eighth in total blocks and 13th in hitting percentage. She became the first player at Wake Forest to record 30 kills in a match

Personal: Grissom's aunt, Wanda May Grissom, played volleyball at Pepperdine while her cousin, Mary Strong, played volleyball at Loyola Marymount and then on the AVP Tour. She also has a cousin, Devin Grissom, who played football at Upper Iowa.
