College: VanDyk played four seasons indoors at Covenant College in Georgia. As a freshman she was both the league's Freshman of the Year as well as Player of the Year, leading the conference in kills (433) and hitting percentage (.390). She became the first player in school history to be First-Team All-Conference all four years, and was also the first in program history to be selected AVCA All-American Honorable Mention. She left the school as the record-holder in career hitting percentage (.327) and was second in career kills (1,377).
Personal: VanDyk has two sisters, Erika and Hanna, and one brother, Jonathan. She led her high school team to a state championship in volleyball as a senior, and set the school record for career kills (1,240). In addition to being named all-state in volleyball two years, VanDyk was twice all-state in basketball and once in track & field, and set her school record for high jump at 5'4".
