College: Spitzer played both indoor and beach volleyball at Colorado Mesa. Indoors she was a two-time AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, and left the school with the third highest career hitting percentage (.370). She had three of the program's five highest single season marks for hitting percentage, and she eclipsed the 1,000 point mark on Senior Day. In beach volleyball her freshman season was cut short due to COVID, then she played on court two as a redshirt freshman. As a sophomore she teamed with Hahni Johnson on court one and was named an AVCA Small College Beach Championship All-American and her school won the Division II title. Spitzer set a school record as a junior with a 24-8 match record alongside Johnson, the most wins in program history. As a senior she went 21-12 while mostly playing with Sabrina VanDeList. Spitzer left the program with 58 victories, the third most all time.
Personal: Spitzer has one younger brother, Kyle. She was an all-state player in high school and ranked fourth in the state in hitting percentage (.455) one season, while also ranking second in the league in blocks (120) and fifth in kills (266).
