Willey played at UNC, where she set four blocking records, including career block assists and career blocking average. As a junior she established a new ACC season record for blocking average. Willey was selected first-team all-ACC that year, while also leading the team in digs. As a senior she led the team in kills, and she spent a year as an undergraduate coach once her eligibility was up. Willey graduated with a degree in Communication Studies.
After graduation, Willey played one year in France and one year in Germany. She is from Ft. Collins, Colo., where her family still lives. She has an older sister that played volleyball at Mesa State, a younger sister that played at Colorado State, and a younger brother.
Willey has coached volleyball in the form of kids camps and programs since 1995.
