Beach Bits:
• In Huntington Beach 2004 Allen made his pro beach volleyball debut with Ty Tramblie. The duo became the lowest seeded team (66th) to ever advance from an AVP qualifier. One week later in Manhattan Beach that record would be eclipsed.
2021: Allen and Andy Benesh played in all three AVP events, finishing third in the last two. All five of their match losses came to teams seeded sixth or better. Allen finished fifth in digs (4.31 per set) and ninth in hitting percentage (.443). Internationally Allen and Benesh played twice with a best of 17th.
2020: Allen and Slick played all three AVP Long Beach tournaments, with a best of fifth after having to play in the qualifier all three times. Allen was fourth in digs (5.00 per set) and 10th in kills (6.00 per set). Internationally Allen and Slick had a best of 17th in their two tournaments together.
2019: Allen and Stafford Slick played six AVP events, with a best of third. He was third on the Tour in digs (4.38 per set). Internationally, Allen played twice with Ryan Doherty, with a best of ninth, then 10 times with Slick, winning a pair of bronze medals.
2018: Allen and Ryan Doherty teamed up for seven AVP tournaments with a best of second to go with a pair of thirds. Allen ended the year fifth in digs (4.46 per set). Internationally Allen and Doherty played five times with a best of ninth twice.
2017: Allen and Stafford Slick played eight events on the AVP Tour, winning once, finishing second twice, and finishing third twice. Their five semifinal appearances tied for the most of any team. Allen was fourth in digs (4.76 per set) and fourth in hitting percentage (.456). Allen and Slick played four international events on the FIVB Tour, placing 17th three times.
2016: Allen played the season opener with Stafford Slick, who suffered an eye injury. Allen then played five times with Theo Brunner, placing third in their debut then winning in Seattle. Allen ended the year ranked fourth in digs (5.28 per set) and eighth in hitting percentage (.440). Allen and Brunner played in four FIVB tournaments together, with a best of ninth.
2015: Allen and Brad Keenan played four AVP events together, with a best of fifth twice. Allen then played three times with Robbie Page, also with a best of fifth twice. Allen played in his first ever FIVB tournament with Trevor Crabb, losing in the qualifier.
2014: Allen and Halverson began the season with a pair of events together, getting a best of ninth. Allen then began playing with Trevor Crabb, getting a best of third to go with two fifths. In Atlantic City Allen advanced to his second career AVP semifinal, winning four main draw matches, defeating former partners in three of those matches.
2013: Allen and Halverson played in five AVP tournaments with a best of a third. Allen also played once with Ed Ratledge, finishing ninth.
2012: Allen played two AVP tournaments with Matt Prosser with a best of seventh. He also competed in six events on two other domestic tours, playing with both Prosser and Russ Marchewka, with a best of third three times.
2011: Allen played nine tournaments on three different domestic tours with five five different partners. He had a best of second with Matt Prosser as well as a second and two thirds with Brad Keenan. Allen's other partners included Jeff Nygaard, Jon Mesko and Kevin McColloch.
2010: Allen reached his first semifinal in the season opener in Fort Lauderdale with Braidy Halverson. The duo played seven times that season, adding a fifth and a seventh.
2009: Allen continued his partnership with Halverson, playing 11 times on the AVP Tour with a best of fifth. Allen then played twice with Matt Fuerbringer and once with Paul Baxter, getting a best of ninth with both.
2008: Allen competed in 14 AVP events, playing the first four times with three different partners, Braidy Halverson, Paul Baxter and AJ Mihalic. Allen and Halverson finished the season together, with a best of seventh twice in their 11 tournaments together.
2007: Allen and Mihalic played in 14 AVP tournaments, and was in the qualifier in 12 of those. The duo advanced to the main draw nine times from the qualifier, with a best of 13th.
2006: Allen and Jon Mesko played in four AVP qualifiers, advancing to one main draw. Then Allen played three qualifiers with AJ Mihalic, advancing twice with a best of 13th.
2005: Did not compete.

Personal: Allen's parents met playing volleyball and they started a club team together. Allen is married to fellow AVP player Janelle Ruen and they have one child, Ketch.
