Bio Bits

Beach Bits:

• Ivy has ranked in the top 10 on the AVP Tour in aces per game in each season as a pro.
• Playing in 10 AVP qualifiers early in her career, Ivy failed to advance to the main draw just once.

2010: Ivy and Fendrick began the season with a pair of fifth-place finishes in their first five AVP events, both of which tied Ivy's career domestic best. On the FIVB Tour the duo lost in the country quota in the first two Grand Slams, then in the next two Grand Slams they advanced from the qualifier and from pool play. Ivy then began a partnership with Lisa Rutledge, and the duo placed seventh in their first two AVP events together.
2009: Ivy continued playing with Fendrick on the FIVB Tour, and they began playing on the AVP Tour as well. In 12 AVP tournaments, the duo placed fifth three times, equaling Ivy's career best domestically, including in Brooklyn after knocking off the top seeded team. All 12 AVP events resulted in top-10 finishes. On the FIVB, Ivy and Fendrick had a ninth in Klagenfurt after advancing from the qualifier, their highest Grand Slam finish. They advanced to the semifinals in the season finale in Phuket, marking the career best for Ivy.
2008: Continued to play with Lowe, and after placing seventh twice in the first four events, followed that up with consecutive fifth-place finishes to establish a new career best. Ivy finished the AVP season with a player ranking of 22nd, and was ninth in aces per game (.63). Ivy played five international events with Lauren Fendrick, winning two Satellite events, then registering a fifth and two sevenths on the FIVB Tour to conclude the season.
2007: Began a partnership with Heather Lowe, capping the season with a career best of seventh place in Cincinnati. Ivy finished the AVP season with a player ranking of 24th, and led the tour in aces per game (1.02). She played two FIVB Challenger events with two different partners, getting a seventh in Hong Kong with Janelle Ruen.
2006: Played with four different partners in her 14 events, with a best of 13th with two different partners. Ivy moved up to third in aces per game (.82).
2005: Ivy began her pro beach career playing with Ella Vakhidova, competing in 12 tournaments. In five of the first six events, the duo advanced from the qualification tournament, and a ninth-place finish catapulted them into the main draw for the remainder of the season. They equaled their best of ninth place in the Manhattan Beach Open. Ivy ended the year ninth in aces per game (.65).

College: Ivy went to Stanford University where she played in three NCAA Finals, capturing the title in 2001 and making the NCAA All-Tournament Team. In college, the reputation of Ivy's jump serve preceded her. Volleyball Magazine described her serve in an article that said, "To fully appreciate this serve you have to sit in the end zone seats and watch closely as it bends and roles and spins and floats and does just about everything except what you think it's going to do...it's a float spin."

Personal:
Her previous volleyball experience includes two years on the Junior National team. Ivy holds a BS and Masters from Stanford in Earth Systems/Marine Chemistry, as well as a certification in personal training. Ivy spends her free time coaching two club volleyball teams for SCVC. Her biggest fan and supporter is her older sister, Laura, who played for Texas State University.
