Sheppard was a two-time all-conference player, including being named the 2001 Player of the Year, and was also an academic all-conference choice. Left the Division III school atop the career charts in kills, digs and aces. Helped turn around a porgram that went 1-11 in conference play her freshman season to one that went 14-0 her senior year and played in the NCAA Tournament.
Following graduation began coaching the Christopher Newport University team, and compiled a 38-6 conference slate her first three seasons. Her teams have posted three of the four best league records in school history, and have gone to the NCAA Tournament twice in that span.
