Forsythe was a four-year letterwinner at Georgia, where she was a two-time team captain. She led the team in digs for three straight years and left ranked fifth on the school's career charts. Forsythe was on the UGA Director's Honor Roll for six semesters.
Nicknamed "Resa," she has an older brother, Zach, and an older sister, Ashley. Forsythe was the 1998 and 1999 Kansas Gatorade player of the year. She is currently the assistant coach at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
