Tian Jia started playing on the SWATCH-FIVB World Tour in 1998 and enters the 2006 season as China’s most successful player on the international Beach Volleyball circuit.  A two-time Olympian, Tian Jia teamed with Wang Fei in 2005 to post China’s best-ever season for a women’s or men’s team on the SWATCH-FIVB World Tour.  The pair finished third in SWATCH points after compiling a 48-20 match mark enroute to $173,500 in earnings for 10 events.  Tian Jia and Wang Fei claimed five medal and six “final four” finishes in 2005, including a bronze medal placement at the SWATCH-FIVB World Championships in Berlin.  Tian Jia’s bid for an Olympic medal at the 2004 Games was hampered when Wang Fei’s right knee injury hindered their effort two months before their Athens appearance.  In 2003, Tian Jia and Wang Fei won back-to-back SWATCH stops in Indonesia and Italy.  Tian Jia and Wang Fei also captured Chinese National Championships together in 2001 and 2002.  The pair also won the gold medals at the 2001 and 2005 Chinese National Games, and the Asian Championship in 2002.  For 48 FIVB events together, Tian Jia and Wang Fei compiled a 147-89 match mark together with $403,750 in earnings with seven medals and 10 “final four” finishes together.  Tian Jia started her sports career in 1993 at the School of Physical Education in Tian Jin.  She was a member of the women’s Volleyball Team of P.L.A Physical Education Unit in 1995.
