Shealy was a varsity volleyball player and swimmer at Georgia, and was the first female Division I athlete to compete in two sports on the same day, accomplishing that feat three times. Swam in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, winning two gold medals, including swimming the third leg of the world record-setting 4x100-meter freestyle relay.
Shealy earned 26 (out of a possible 28) All-America honors in her collegiate career. She was the 2000 NCAA Co-Female Swimmer of the Year, along with her roommate, Kristy Kowal. That year she was the NCAA Champion in three events, and became the first woman in SEC history to claim four consecutive titles in the 100-yard Freestyle event. She majored in Sports Communications.
In high school, Shealy was a four-year letterwinner in both volleyball and swimming. She was the South Carolina Player of the Year in volleyball and a four-time state Female Swimmer of the Year.
